No Wipers this time. I may have had one but my drag was loose! Oooops! Should not let that happen![unimpressed]
I only fished for only 3 hours because I caught motion sickness. I can get motion sickness just sitting in the back of a car on a curvy road.
I decided to "bottom bounce". Man those cats get aggresive, very hard fighters. I caught one 14" and 2 nice sized 15". Pretty plump females full of eggs too.
I could have caught more cats and maybe got a Wiper if I would have stayed later.
I started fishing at 3PM and got to the shore around 7 or so. Sucked because I got that motion sickness. It happens when it gets hot. It was only 90 but the sun and sweat—I drank plenty of water—just could not curve that "upset stomach".
I wanted to stay and catch more cats. But 3 is enough anyways and I have the rest of the summer and this fall to get those Wipers and Cats.
I know that it was motion sickness because when I got off the lake, I felt way better. Too bad.
Man they raised the day use permit to $10! [shocked]I only had $9 on me, luckily the lady was there and I had my credit card.
Plus the rising gas prices, bleck! Oh well I had fun though despite the motion crud.
No pics of the cats— wasn't in the mood to snap them.
I got my cats near the northeast corner in 9 feet. They seemed to be at that depth.
They were all caught between 5PM and 6:30PM.
I got the cats "bottom bouncing" using my drift-sock to slow my trolling speed. The cats really want the worms to be no more than 1 foot off the bottom. and all the cats were caught right under my boat while slow trolling, pretty cool huh? I used three-way swivels with heavy 4 ounce sinkers. I used worms for bait. The cats didn't seem to mind the added weight I used. Bottom bouncing is sooooo fun!
