I've got a friend coming from Norway to visit at the end of the month, and he's never done freshwater fishing. So I figured I'd take him out a couple times. I plan on Willard and/or East Canyon, but figured Bountiful might be good too. However, I've heard it's hard to get to - Mapquest hasn't caught up with the construction, and somebody said the directions change ever so often with Legacy work anyway. All I know, is that it's by the landfill...and I have no idea where that is!
I'll be coming from the north (Layton). I don't need the shortest or quickest way, just one that I can be sure of getting there somehow.
We can always go to Farmington, since I know how to get there (and some good fishing spots), but I've been wanting to try Bountiful anyway! Also, where's a good place to fish once you get there? I don't need any secrets, just some good tips.

I believe you have to go to 500 South in Bountiful, go west under the new Legacy highway, turn north on the frontage road that runs along the west side of Legacy, and go north until you come to the Bountiful pond turn on your left. Mr. J.

Oh yeah, I forgot the book had directions. It's in my car trunk with all my other fishing junk, so I don't actually read it much.

I got time to try both ways. Besides, gives me yet another excuse to go fishin'! LOL

It Changes every week. But it is easily found. If coming from Ogden get off at Centerville and wind west and south, mostly west. Find the new highway and look for a way to get over it. It seems like you are in a construction zone, but it is marked with signs. Allow an extra 15 minutes frustration time, but you can take that out on the fish. It is a nice place; but if you want to show your guest a better view of Utah you may want to consider East Canyon. It is a nice drive and a good looking lake. The fish were biting there last week. If you want more detail on the drive to Bountiful Pond let me know.
