yep it's that time of the month again. with nearly a full moon it was time to do some all night fishing monday night at starvation. started fishing around 10 monday night and fished until about 1 in the afternoon on tuesday. this time, in spite of my warnings, someone was crazy enough to join me. we started out above the bridge on the north side. i was glad to see a lack of debris in the water this time. in june i ran into all kinds of debris once i passed the bridge. it made me wish i had norman on my bow with a flashlight to guide me through it all. "port, port, starbird, port, reverse.....REVERSE!!!! FOR GOD SAKE'S BILLY REVERSE!!!!" anyway, we fished on the north side until we got close to the bridge. picked up a few walleyes here and there but nothing special. switched over to the southside and we picked up a couple more but it seemed a bit slower. fished trophy wall and picked up a few more walleyes and some smallmouth carp. once the sun came up we also caught about 10 perch from about 6 to 10 inches. we put all of the perch back. we ended up catching around 20 smallmouth carp between about 3 to about 15 inches. most were on the smaller end. kept 4 or 5 of the bigger ones. caught about 30 walleyes between 8 to 22 inches. most were 14+inches. we kept 20. i used a #5 chartreuse shad rap, a #5 perch shad rap and a 1/4 oz jig with a 3 inch kalin grub at night and a spinner rig with a #5 gold indiana blade in the day. i'm not sure exactly what the poor guy in the back of my boat was using other than what looked like a 1/4 oz jig tipped with a worm and a spinner rig. he did throw cranks a few times but i'm not sure what kind. i'm just glad that after my attempts to hit him with my cranks he didn't retaliate and bounce one of his cranks off the back of my head. luckily he was able to dodge my 4 or 5 backward casts or he very well may have. at night we caught our fish in 2 to 19 feet. in the day we caught walleyes from 15 to 30 feet and our perch were in 15 to 20 feet. my pics didn't turn out too good so i don't think i'll post them. one day i'll get a real camera and quit using my phone.
