I have a small problem, I am going fishing somewhere tomorrow. However I can't leave slc until 10:00 am. Was planning on Yuba for the afternoon, but son-in-laws dad does not want to go to Yuba[mad]. What would be better...Deer Creek, Jordanelle, or Strawberry. He wants to bait fish for trout. the rest of us want to try for walleye, perch, bass and northerns (yuba). I don't mind strawberry at all, but leaving that late makes me wonder if it would even be worth it?[crazy]
Any advice from those who have been on these lakes at that time (noon til dusk) would be greatly appreciated.[Smile]

I have fished Jordanelle and Deer creek in the afternoon recently. The SMB fishing is hot at both places but the SMB are small in size at DC. Average is 8" to 10" at DC, but you can catch alot. The SMB are larger at Jordanelle, and the rainbow fishing was better at Jordanelle. It did get slower at jordanelle in the afternoon, and afternoon fishing was a little faster at DC. We caught 3 walleye in one hour trolling raps, and rattle-L- traps in about 20 feet of water. We were able to catch the walleye on the bottom useing a weight system to get our lures down. The walleye bite has been good at DC for about 4-6 weeks. I would recommend staying till the sun goes down. If I was going to go again I think I would hit DC. I fished the berry the weekend before the 4th of july in the morning. It was the slowest I have seen it there in years. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. We will head to DC and see what we can find. By the way any problems launching at the state park ramp? How is the water level?

The water levels are low at DC, but you can launch your boat just fine.
