[frown]Started at about noon, pulled out at 7:00. To make a long story short...tried just about all we had, 3 of us, w/two poles, one each with bait (powerbait, worm and minnow) and one jigging, and casting spinners & rapalas. Tried trolling a little with no success. Started at the dam end by the bouys on both sides, then tried the north side of the island, up near the inlet, back along the north side, then up the wallsburg arm. Storm blew in headed to the ramp only to find it packed. Found an area out of the wind 200 yards west of the State park ramp in 40' of water, by far the most fish on the finder for the day. Still no fish willing to cooperate. Evening turned out really nice, decided to stay for another hour or so, still nada. Is there some secret that I don't know about?

Sounds like you did all the right things. Maybe you have fallen out of favor with the fishing gods.[Wink]
I would keep trying. Some days DC is like that.

Out of all the lakes within 90 miles of Provo, DC has been and remains my least favorite. I don't have a boat most of the time and I am not much of a bass guy so that might have something to do with it. I usually catch a couple but have never had a great day at the DC. Don't worry about it - just keep fishin'.

Dont feel to bad i was at yuba and the fishing was horrible sunday maybe it had to do with that storm that blew in saturday night.I have had great sucess there with the trout and eyes not so much with the bass.

Gentlemen, thanks for the kind words of advice. Ocean, don't take this the wrong way, but I feel a little better knowing that Yuba was horrible. Because all I kept saying to myself was "I should have gone to yuba" over and over and over...you get the picture. Blame it on the storm is my feeling also. [Wink]

Yeah we had about a 20 perch day total and no pike bites . Look at it this way you saved a lot of money on gas. Also you saved a lot of harrasment if you guy would have gone there![:p]

My cousin and I fish a LOT...but not at DeerCreek! I can't tell you how many times as we are driving past DeerCreek that we mention how much we wish it were a good managed fishery for ANY species of fish.

That being said, I know there are some who are very successful there, but I'm not one of them. Never have been, probably never will be, because I am not willing to put in the time there to become good.

I will also say this: It is my FAVORITE water skiing/wakeboarding lake! As long as you are there on a weekday at 6:00 a.m.!!!!

There was a local bass tourney there last Saturday, there were only a handful of bass over 12" caught. If I remember right there was one right at twelve and the others were around 15". I hate Deer Creek, that's why I didn't fish the tourney. Sounds like the trout fishing is the same. I'm sure there are people who know how to fish it but I am not one of them. All I catch are dinks.

I was there yesterday I boated about 5 or 6 smallmouths. My friend boated well over 20 maybe 30 lose count after ten but he was targeting them. Nothing very big mostly small bass but the bite was steady untill about 11am then it got tough.
We left about 130 pm. I was trying to catch Lg mouths none this trip. I have not caught a walleye or Perch out of Deer Creek in a long while but I dont trolll or use worms much. It was a great day no W and cloud cover most of the day keeping the temp low. Will be back later this week for another round or maybe Yuba, pineview or Starvation after I install my new bow mount trolling motor.
Good luck next time out!
