brake trout? it was a experimental hybrid created and stocked to see if it dealt with whirling disease better than rainbows. the program was discontinued in 1997 (i think??). i have seen one picture and very neat lookin fish. dont plan on catching any though, there might be a few left out there. i catn remember where they stocked them. i want to say millmeadows and a hand full of other central waters.

The Brake is the combination of a female Brown Trout, and a male Lake Trout.

Brown trout and lake trout. Lakers from fish lake and browns from egan fish hatchery. Discontinued the program in 1996-97 stocked in mill meadows and porcupine. porky was the one i couldnt remember. may be a few in the lakes but certainly not worht fishing for.

Anyone know where to see a picture of one of these. Maybe all the big fish I thought were Tigers that I caught one fall were actually Brake. The timing is not too far off. I can imagine they look pretty simalar in color but don't know.
