[#008000]I hooked up with BigBassaholic in the early AM and headed up to Jordanelle for some bass fishing. The weather was real nice and it was a great day of good company, good conversation, good fishing, and good catching.

First off we puttered over to the island and tossed some top waters. Then, after getting no takers, I tried swimming a shallow grub and got a small Smallmouth. After realizing that no more action was to happen at that spot, we took off to the Rock Cliffs and found some likely spots and fished there.

We caught a pretty good number of bass at the shallow to medium depths - we were basically using drop shots, but, we tried other things as well.

Most of our fish came from drop shotting berkley/gulp minnows, worms or wacky rigged stick baits in the snaggy cover; where, of course, we donated a fair amount of hardware to the depths. [/#008000]

[#008000]We caught a fair number of good sized Smallmouths (16-18 inches) and a grundle of smaller ones. BigBassaholic got the biggest at what looked like maybe about 19 inches from my perspective on the back of the boat (we didn't really take the time to measure any of the fish). BigBassaholic also latched into one pretty nice Perch on a wacky rig. [/#008000]

[#008000]We left the water when the power crowd got a little too thick around 2 pm. [/#008000]

[#008000]My camera developed some kind of issue with the shutter, but, I was able to click off a couple of photos before it went south.

So that was you we ran into [Smile] My buddy Mike and I were in the blue Lund working the opposite direction you were. Looks like you did okay. We ended up moving to the north bank and started to find a few more fish including a 16" 2 pounder (measuered & weighed). Mike also nailed one of those elusive Jordanelle largemouths. Not a bad day, but like you said, it got crowded fast! See you next time, Fred K.

Nice fishing with you fishhound, next time is my treat for gas and launch.... Great fishing day, great company and like you said the weather was great all morning also... we surely donated alot of hooks and sinkers to the bottom that day.... One thing fishhound forgot to mention is that when I got to his house to pick him up, I realized that I forgot to bring my boat seats..... we had to stand up all day.... long day on our feet.... but at least we were kept busy most of the day catching and releasing fish... Thanks for the company and see you on the water....

great dogs you got at home there....

[#008000]It was nice to kind of meet you. I'm glad to know that you got into some fish. Maybe we'll be able to hook up and fish sometime. [/#008000]

[#008000]It was a fun day of fishing. Although, my legs were tired when I got home. I'll also probably have to go get some more drop shot hooks before I go fishing again. [/#008000]

By all means, lets do get together and fish [Smile] I usually hit East Canyon though mainly because I can hit EC three times on the amount of gas it cost me to go to Jordanelle once. Take care, Fred.

Wow Chuck, I am jealous of all of your fishing trips. Sounds like you are making up for all the time you spent on the slopes -- which kept you from fishing.

[#008000]Cool. EC has some nice bass in it as well. Let me know when you want to go.[/#008000]

[#008000]You're kind of on the money there. I only went ice fishing something like 3 times. But, with the great snow year we had, I got to ski a lot of days - so, at least I did get out and enjoy some great scenery and have a bunch of fun doing it.[/#008000]

[#008000]Knowing you, as soon as all of your domestics are taken care of, I would imagine you also will be trying to make up for some missed opportunities to get out on the water as well.[/#008000]
