This is not much of a fishing report but i did get a day in with the nephews. My dad past away last week sunday so i flew in last tuesday for the funeral. The funeral was last wednesday it was hard seeing him they way he looked because he wasted away with Lupus i did not recognize him in the coffin he was just skin and bones. But i will remember him from my last trip i made to miami last december. My dads last words to me in Dec were bury me at sea.My dad loved the ocean just like i do he was not an avid fisherman like i am but we did make some trips out into the deep blue sea. I wil return maybe this Dec or next May to spread his ashes in the ocean. He wants me to rent a boat were we can take our family out and spread his ashes and he wants us to have a good time so he wants us to fish after we spread his ashes.Hopefully we have a great day fishingif not thats ok.Well i did not have much time to deep sea fish because i was busy visiting family but the nephews all 9 of them wanted to go fishing before i left so we made a last minute trip to islamorada and fished from the shore.I went to the local marina and bought a 25lb bonito for bait and attraction for sharks they work great because they are bloody fish.We caught live bait of the edges and had 6 bobbers with live bait under them. The cudas were hungry and we ended up with 4 over 15lbs easy. Also we caught 2 nurse sharks one about 10lbs kinda small the other over 20lbs not what i was expecting i was hoping we could get into some over 50lbs but it didnt happen.Everyone had fun that is all that mattered.Weather as great over there except for a couple rainy days but wasnt as hot as it usually gets there .Well i need to get to yuba this weekend for pike and perch cant wait!![Wink]

My condolences on losing your dad.I lost mine way before his time, and I know it's tough at times. Like you said remember him when you seen him last December. After six years I finally spread my dad's ashes on the gorge, just a couples weeks ago.I figured it was time. May your dad live on forever in your memories.

We did the same thing with my grandfather's ashes. Took a big ship out to Catalina island and did it there. My grandfather really liked a certain type of beer and some of my family members pored some out over the boat. We were on a large deck and the beer got all over a lady on the lower deck. My grandfather was a real joker and he would have really got a kick out of what happened[blush].

Your grandad was like my dad he loved making jokes and making people laugh. He left me with these last words before i left Miami last Dec about his ashes. He said "dont throw my ashes of south beach because there are to many gay guys in the water over there!! If you knew my dad he would have you laughing your butt off thats how he was. I bet your grandad was laughing his butt of too at that lady.[:p]
