Wednesday, 07/30/08- Hit the water at about 5:30 pm. Wind and waves out of the south. Wet and wild ride to Las Vegas Wash. Poked around a bunch of back coves noting nothing of interest. Not even a splash. Settled over fish inside Sand Island and started jigging. Landed four small stripers. Wind calmed down, went for a ride looking for surface action. Nothing. Returned to Sand Island and started jigging again. Landed three more, one snagged in the belly! [crazy] Wind came up from the north around sunset. Wet and wild ride back to the boat ramp in the dark. Off the water about 9:30 pm.

Enjoyed an awesome Lake Mead sunset.

Evening catch in the box.

BTW The light at the fish cleaning was out, forcing us to use our truck headlights. Hope it is reparied soon. One other boat on the water today. Met up with them at the fish cleaning station, they had one five pounder, a couple of four's, and a couple of three's. Nice fish. Said they hit them right at sunset near the shoreline at Sand Island. Their only action of the evening.

Very nice. How deep were the schools holding?

Seemed like the few fish we caught were jigged up from about 40'. Windy conditions both days. Not very impressive. [:p] Hitting the water a couple of times next week and hoping for improvement. [Smile]
