Thats wild, and nice fish.

Do you think that those fish might be close cousins to the Burbot?

Catfish not Burbot.

That looks like great fun, except I have a hunch that they have many more skeeters while they are ice fishing than we do while ice fishing in Utah.

lol well i was exagerating some.. i think it only took about 10 min's for me to play it.. just seem to take alot away form it.. it is very cool tho.. i would like to try that kind of ice fishing my self! [sly] may have more skiters. but a lot less cold wether gear needed as well.. and det will keep the skiters down i'm sure.. [sly]

That's the damnedest thing I think I've seen in a long time. That was great! Kind of makes you wonder next time you go slogging through a marsh with the jaws music playing in the background.
[signature]
What do you mean thats the damnest thing you ever saw!?
People do that all time at Utah Lakeā€”just find a thick floating weed bed and "drill" a hole and you catch channel catfish and carp.

I tried it at Willard and got wet, the weeds weren't thick enough.

True, true, but how often do you see people actually walking across the thick floating weed bed? Although, with Utah Lake, there are places where you could probably get away with that same tactic: fishing pole, big hook, 8" yelow perch, and a post hole digger in lieu of an ice auger and you're set!

one thing about the climate there is you still have to put on your sun screen. i've been thinking about ice fishing for a couple of weeks. i must be nuts!!! [cool]
