I found these Hard Nose "Salt-Injected" Lizards, they are a really dark green, almost brownish. They are really slippery! I'm not exactly sure what kinds of things like these salty treats, any help? I mainly fish at the pond on the golf course that I work at and there are some nice Largemouth and Small mouth bass there.I also fish the pond next door to my house, that is full of Bullheads and Bass. Think they'd work? If not, do you have any reccomendations while I'm learning? I'm experiementing with weedless frogs and what not. I was taught all Topwaters are good for beginners.

I bet you those would work well on the LMB. I'm sure you may have some light spinning gear around.

Just throw on a black or brown 1/4 or 1/8oz bullet sinker up the line from the hook. It is ok if the sinker touches the bait or you can go the Brass N Glass route by separating the sinker from the hook with a Black, Glass bead.

Tie on a 2/0 or 3/0 Gamakatsu worm hook and thread it through the nose of the lizard, flip the lizzard belly up and just barely pierce the belly. You are now hook up for weedless action and can crawl or walk your lizzard across the bottom of the pond.

Just work on a slow retrieve for now.

Anymore questions? Just ask away. We are here to help when we can.[cool]

Wow! Thanks so much! I'm going to write a "shopping list" and go to Wally World and pick up some sinkers and the Gamakatsu hooks you said to get. I'm surprised I don't have any already the guy who's teaching me to fish pretty much preaches their use! [laugh] Can't wait to get out again, I'm gonna hit those Bass!

Gamakatsu is one of my sponsors, and so is Owner.

I tend to favor the Gamakatsu for all my Bass fishing where the Owner hooks take over 99% of my Saltwater fsihing and 40% of my freshwater.

They are good hooks.[cool]
