Yes, Thats one of our new members Steve Davis. Kills 100's of fish like that per year. [:/][pirate]
It was great earlier this year when myself and old Coot were hooked up on Double 30+ pounders in he GDRB and watched Steve and his clients troll right past us at about 100' away.
I am not sure who is harder on the Big Macs at the gorge, Steve or the Burbot. [shocked]

Brody,
I don't understand what the point of this thread is. Most all of the regular Gorge Mack fisherman know the damage that Steven Davis does to the Gorge. Davis' guide service has been argued time and again on BFT, and no one wins but the Mods.
If you want us to complain about him and his guiding techniques we have, and all it gets anyone is banned from BFT.
Remember earlier this year when Don and several guys (including yourself) on the Utah board got in a rif over Macks? It was all over someone fishing with Davis and keeping several nice Macks for only a half of a day of fishing.

This thread then ended up locked and then turned into this one.

Personally, if someone keeps a fish that is legal that is their decision, and I will never say much even though I disagree with the decision.
But at the same time I don't blame some of the guys getting a little upset and speaking their mind in a thread about someone keeping a nice Mack, when in the next thread someone is asking for their advice on how to catch the big one.

[cool][#0000ff]Right on. Several things set off the rabblerousers on this board and posting a pic of a big dead mack is guaranteed to get things goins.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]We moderators do not edit by subject...but by how everybody is handling the discussion. No problem with me if people kill macks. I disagree, but I am not going to make a personal attack on someone who does. And, those who turn the discussion into a YOU, YOU, YOU tirade are subject to being edited, deleted or worse.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]No matter what anybody on this board has to say they are not going to change what the MACK KILLERS do. And, there is no reason to try. They are within their legal rights and some harvest is not going to destroy the fishery. Others do not have the right to dictate how the guides run their operations, and as long as there are anglers who want to keep their catch there will be customers for them.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The two biggest opponents for the mack pack to go after are the burbot and the fish and game departments. As long as there are no regulations against killing big fish...BY ANY MEANS...you are going to have guides that help their customers catch and kill big fish...by fair means or foul.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Brody must be bored and need some excitement. I thought we had dealt with this issue enough. Apparently not. [/#0000ff]

His prices are reasonable. They are for the entire boat, not per person.

In your opinion of course...
Me? I would never spend $1000 for 12 hours of fishing on the Gorge. Waste of money, IMO. I don't care if it were for me a 2 friends.

Nor would I, but there are a lot of things that I choose not to spend my money on that others don't think twice about doing.
