Just wondering if there are special regulations fishing the the river or Silver Lake up towards brighton. I heard that because it is in the watershed you have to wear waders... you can't wet wade? Are rafts allowed on silver lake? (Wife just had knee surgery and it would be fun to float since she can't wade). Any places closed to fishing? Any other hints or tips? We have a family outing up in the canyon and I would like to catch some fish. Thanks in advance!

Could be right on the waders. I know dogs are no longer allowed. I have floated Silver in a tube, but that was a while back so that too might have changed.
Pretty scary in a tube however, I am out in the middle casting to shore, and people on shore are casting to the middle. Hear lures go whizzing by![laugh]

I really like Silver Lake from my tube and I havn't been hooked yet. In fact I have had closer calls from other tubers. You are right waders are required and no swimming. Fly fishing is usually good. I plan to be there early tomorrow.

Thanks for the info. I will be up later in the day. We will see how things go.

Fishing and catching was great this morning. I caught around 80 including a 14", and a 15" rainbow and about a 14" albino. The rest were typical planter rainbows to about 13".

I was just there on Friday and i had great luck with my fly rod. Lots of bites but new to fishing moving water so i lost most of the fish in the rocks and some flies on the trees. One good thing was my fishing license was checked by some cops making sure everyone was playing fair. Here are a few pics of the fish that diced to come out and say hi.
