Arrived at Willard around 4 pm. The air was hot. The fishing was cold. Three of us got skunked over a few hours. Fished all the favorite areas... lots of lures, lots of speeds. Just one of those days. We did see a guy pulling in a cat fish, probably on bait. There were quite a few boats out there but I didn't see any Wipers boated. If you were out there let's hear how you did. The best part was the corn pones at Maddox on the way home.

You can still catch them this time of the year if you move around until you find an active school of fish but there is so much food in the water right now it can be tough, thats for sure. It won't surprise me though if someone says, "We had no problem catching wipers today, the first place we stopped, we caught fish[Wink]".

I hope that is what we end up hearing. Someone needs to have humiliated the fish to compensate for our lack of success. I will be pretty surprised if someone "killed-em" though. We covered a lot of water with 4 different lures chanting "bite-me" and did not even get a confirmed nibble.

Perhaps you should have tried, "Here fishy fishy". That is my go-to fish call. Sometimes it works, but unfortunately sometimes it doesn't.

Sounds like it was pretty slow. What was the water temp ?

It is tough catching when the lake is so low and all the power boaters get the water so churned up. It might be better during the week when there are less boats on the Bay.
