Went to the Gorge this weekend for an interesting trip. Saturday was slow all day with most all the Kokes small at 35'-45'. A front moved through that afternoon with high winds, whitecaps, lightning to the North and East, and not much rain. Sunday morning in the same areas we marked alot larger fish (at first I thought they were all small Macs) but after we hooked up, we found out they were all Kokes, alot bigger than the day before (now 2.9-3.6 lbs), hanging out at 48' to 55'. We limited out trolling at 1.8 mph with larger pink Tazi's between 6:30 -9:30 am, along with a few smaller Macs. Most other boats were using pink squid and dodgers with good success too. Hope this helps....no new records but they sure are fun to catch........

Thanks for info, Capt. Were the bigger fish starting to turn?

We are planning to be at Gorge Thur - Sat and are debating on where to put in. Been following the reports and at the moment seems like its sixes, Buckboard or Lucerne.

I can attest to the slowness of Saturday [mad]

Lotta boat traffic at Big Bend, BTW. Can't say what Lucerne was like, but ya might want to keep that in mind.

The Kokes were still silver with a hooked jaw. One had a hint of pink on the belly. The fish are generally bigger at Buckboard....and you are closer to Squaw Hollow for a change of pace. Good Luck on a new record......
