Hey everyone,
I'm from Salt Lake City, UT and am headnig up to Henry's Lake for the first time ever this coming Thursday. I usually do my fishing at Strawberry Reservoir in Utah.
From what I have read about Henry's Lake, the fishing is pretty tough in the summer time. If you guys could give me any tips/recommendations on what to use up there, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have been up there a couple times a week all season and honestly................... Its really tough right now.
If you stop in at BS Flies on your way up I can give you current information. I will be there on friday from 8-2.
But the best way would be to get a guide from BS flies, most people who have stopped in and gave reports to me have been hard pressed to catch a single fish, but if you know what your doing........... its a little different story.

I agree. It is a very technical lake and this has been a very good opener year for it. Not normal. In past opener has been good, but this year has given allot of people the "H" bug.
I know people that have gone there for years with poor to fair results.
First thing I tell them is to get Fishing Henry's Lake book BY Bill Schiess. He not only tells you what fly, but where to fish at different times of the year, and HOW to do it.
Lynn Scott is the man to get ahold of if you don't have the pleasure to meet Mr. Bill. And of course there is the FREAK kid named Everett that is a KID NATURAL with the waters up there.
If you stop by the shop and meet Everett, pinch his cheek for me[laugh]

I agree with fly goddess that book is really good to get, however so much development has happened around some of the places that the landmarks aren't as easy to spot.
Stop in at the shop on your way up.
