I was only referring to the statement made for the thread.

It didn't quite make sense.

Is it a question? Or is it a statement with a resolution?

None of us can tell if you are asking a question or offering a method for killing the fish.[cool]

a knife through the gills, let the fish dangle in the water in the net for a few minutes, fish bleeds out in a matter of minutes

Ok. Now we understand.[Smile]

As was mentioned, a knife through the gills and hang it upside down. The fish will bleed out rather fast.

There are a couple more methods too that I have found effective.

1. Smash it over the head with a small club.

2. Immerse it in the freezing water of your ice chest.

You will notice that neither of the 3 methods will be found on the PETA website.[cool]

I just clean them while they're still kicking. A live fish bleeds out much better when you clean it fresh like that. Lots of times, I'll throw a catfish carcass in the ole gut bucket and its mouth is still moving even though its fillets are floating nicely in a bowl of saltwater (saltwater also helps to pull the blood and some of the "fishy" taste out...let the fillets soak in saltwater for a day or two in the fridge before you fry those bad boys up).

Enjoy that one, PETA.
