I have a tournament up at the Gorge on the 16,17th this month. I plan on fishing the Wyoming side or Lucerne area just because there seems to be bigger fish than in the deeper Utah side. I was wondering if anyone has been up there that can give me some pointers on how/where to fish for bass.
P.S. I'm not fishing the FLW State Qualifier this year on the following weekend so I'm not going to 'steal your spot'.

Stay OFF the chunk rock, the bigger FG bass relate more to grass than rock. A mixture of both is the best. Plan on dragging or drop-shotting if the water is flat. Don't hide from the weather if you can hold the boat in the wind. You really need some weather to make those fish bite in the summer. A lot of guys will run to the river in August. I personally think it is a waste to have a tourney at FG in August. The fish are little and pretty tough to catch. It obviously favors the guys who are good with a spinning rod, 10lbs a day will probably win. Brown grubs, tubes, worms, a rattle-trap, and a popper is all you need.

I was up there a few weeks ago and there was a tournament going on that day. I seen a few boats fishing around slow tappering gravle points with drop shot setups. I talked to a guy and the boat ramp that will be fishing this tournament also, I can't remember his name but he was prefishing. he said they used drop shot most of the day hope this helps a little. later chuck

I was up there not to long ago and nailed some nice bass. We were up around Anvil Draw. caught close to thirty in a couple hours. but only five of them were over three pounds. Here is a couple pics. At that point in time we were throwing nothing but swim type baits.
