I want to hit Pineview tomorrow in the tube. Where is the best place to go for SMB or Tigers? First time in the toon any tips that I should know about?

the FIRST tip for your Tube/TOON/floater of a inflatable nauture is to hook up with TubeDude and let him teach you the ways of PVC mastery to rig yourself up so you can FISH off the device.
I dont have any advice on Pine View, I have only fished it a very few times in my life and NEVER since I have been a grown up fishing on my own.

You might want to try and hike it down the hill in the Narrows.. and fish there.. as the entire narrows is a "no wake" zone so you won't have to do the "ocean waves" thing in your first time out in the craft. it's no wake zone except for PWC riders that can't read..I've seen a couple come racing in there all excited about flat open water.
I haven't fished it yet this year, but last year I found perch, tigers, and SMB all in the narrows.. Just look for the typical structure for the SMB and you can find a lot of the fingerlings in there.. go a little deeper and you might find their daddy. The Narrows is the section of the lake that leads up to the dam. You can park on the North side and hike down.
for what it's worth, that's my 2 cents.. maybe others will have more to offer.
I do however second the "Seek the Guru on the Mountain" for tubedude.. your craft will never be the same.

[cool][#0000ff]There are several places around the lake where you can park and launch a tube. Most of them require a little hike between parking and launching.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Once you hit the water, you have to find the fish, and there is no magic formula. Use a sonar and read the bank. If you can find points or steeply sloping banks, you can watch for fish at a certain depth and get an idea how deep they are holding. Then, once you find active fish, just use the same pattern.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]During the warm summer, the SMB are often in deeper water and not always around brush. Ditto for crappies. They can be suspended deep. Tigers will be wherever they have to go to find groceries. Right at daybreak they might be in close, chasing bluegill, perch or crappies. Once the sun hits the water...and the power squadron...they might go deeper...especially if it is clear and sunny.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Also during the hotter months, think LOW, SLOW AND SMALL. Fish that are less active in the warmer water...and with a lot of watercraft...tend to hit smaller lures with less action than they do when they are more active. It is a common occurence for guys to have their biggest muskies hit small jigs being fished for smallies or crappies. And, it is also common for good sized smallies to smack small jigs being fished for crappies or bluegills. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I do not tube Pineview during the summer. I have a low threshhold of tolerence for the wackos on their noisy boats and PWCs. Call me silly, but I tend to enjoy a fishing trip more if the noise level is below 100 decibels and I am not in fear of my life.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]This might be too late for you, but I got up early for a fishing trip this morning myself and just saw your post. Good luck.[/#0000ff]

Thanks for all the information about pineview. I was trying to go last Sunday but do to the weather I didn't try it. I will probably try again next Sunday if the weather is ok. I will have to try the Narrows because like you said there are a lot of crazy's out there and don't really want to deal with that on my first trip out. Anyone lately have a good trip out to Pineview?
