My buddy from Arizona was visiting, so we hit the water Saturday morning, and found the kokes stacked in 45-65ft near Gold Point. We were dropping our second rod in the water, and it was "fish on"! The action stayed pretty steady for an hour or so and before we knew it we had 7 kokes weighing up to 2.5lbs in the "dead well". The graph was covered with fish and we caught the kokes using hot pink squids trailing an RMT Dodger and #2 Needlefish in Flour. Green Hot Tiger. Optimum depth was about 50ft and boat speed was around 2.2mph.
My buddy had never caught a laker, so we switched species for the last hour or so. I changed to some bigger spoons, a 2.5in Williams spoon, #3 Needlefish, and a 2.25in Forage Minnow spoon. We dropped down to 70-75ft and trolled some main channel walls near Jarvies at around 1.8mph. The kokes continued to hit the big stuff and we boated a couple more along with a pair of small macks (20 in). The lake was buzzin' with water sports enthusiasts, so we bailed around 10AM with 9 kokes and 2 macks. Water temps were around 69F.
There's still some awesome fishing on the Gorge! Hope it helps, Ryno
