Hit the old Lake Mead Marina cove on monday. Took my Dad out fishing for his birthday. We hit the water at about 5am. There was striper surface activity everywhere inside the cove. We had a wide open bite on X-Rap cranks and Rebel Jumpin Minnows. All the crankbait fish were under a pound, all the Rebel fish were over 2. Biggest to 3 1/2lbs. Bigger fish were caught off the point on the north side of the cove facing open water. Smaller fish were caught inside the cove. Had an awesome day on the water. All surface activity was dead by 7:15am. Sunny, calm beautiful day out there. Lost count, but we easily caught over 30 fish. Released all.

[cool]Hey Whizzle, I didn't know that you could fish in that old marina cove. I went out on my bro's boat sunday( to waterski)and launched from there but saw only people on the pier fishing. Can you fish from a boat,kayak, or tube INSIDE the cove? I saw all kinds of bait fish around the pier and was waiting for a striper to rush into them.

Yeah, you can fish in there. You just can't fish off the launch ramp. Most of the activity is along the wall across from the launch ramp on out to the point.
