I am being dragged to the balloon festival sunday morning, we are spending the night in a hotel either at the bottom of the canyon, or in Eden UT, not sure.

Any way, I made the wife promise that if we are going to be ON the shores of Pine View, I get to spend the afternoon fishin there from shore with the kids and her as well as our freinds that are going with us to the Balloon thingy. Two Questions:
1. how is the Crappie fishing from shore for the kids? What bait works for kid action?
(yes i know it will be crappie....LOL)

B. Is it doable to get a Musky from shore?? if i wade and hit some points and maybe sneak into some bays in late morning wading slowly, can we sight fish musky in UT when they are warming in the bays?????

I am looking for some input from some of you people (Guys or Gals) that spend time on that lake, I have read your posts, I know your out there....LOL.

Oh I almost forgot, what all is IN Pine View? Crappie and Muskie I know, but are there trout, bass, walleyes...perch..???? what kinds of fish are in there?

thanks in advance.

the north arm is good for blue gill and more than likely crappie. there are perch and small mouth and trout if your lucky it is rare to pull a trout from pineview. you will have to let us know if perch fishing is good. worms work and small jig on a bobber.

It's late in the year for both T Muskies and Crappie. They should both be holding in the deeper cooler water. I would focus my efforts on some of the toad Smallmouth bass that hang around the rocky points and submerged brush. I'm not saying you can't catch muskies and crappies from the bank this time of year, it's just a lot harder and there are easier target species to go after.

As for the kids, give 'em a hook with a chunk of nightcrawler on it and they should be in perch city! find a steep bank and cast out 10'-15' and let it rest on the bottom. They'll likely get some mud cats this way too!

Good luck.

BTW- The 'view is at maximum capacity every weekend this year (number of boats allowed on the lake at once) so be prepared for a crowd.
