This saturday i'm going over to a friends house. He has a some good water behind it. Directly behind his house there is a stream. The stream turns into a small river, then the river empties into a medium sized pond. What he usually does is, he goes to the stream and catches crawdads, then hooks them through the tail and casts them in the pond or river. I prefer to use artificial bait. I went to Academy and bought a small crawdad crank, and two larger crawdad cranks. I also picked up a a few "Zoom" scented softies. I doubt there are any huge bass in there, but any suggestions (between large/ small, and soft/ crank) and how to fish them?
Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Bassmasta

The crawdads are meant to fished slow just like a crawdad would do when it crawls.

Dead or alive fish em slow.[cool]

Texas rig the soft plastic and add scent. Work it back with short quick twitchs and pause it. Crank in bring rod tip down and repeat. It's always my go to bait near any rocks or flats.

As craw imitations go, I personally like tubes. I use 4" Chompers tubes that are garlic scented and heavily salted with an 1/8 oz tube head inside. Tubes are jerked and then allowed to fall, imitating a fleeing crayfish.

You could also try something like a Wave Worm Tiki Crawdude on a weightless Texas rig, crawled on the bottom.
