I was out fishing yesterday morning and I sat down on a picnic table where I had my tackle box sitting. The table moved and the box dumped. I picked up everything and put it all back in the box and didn't think of it again. I casted a few more times and had no problem. Then on one cast I felt a horrible pinch and pain under my right arm. Just where I couldn't see, I had one of my lures stuck to my shirt and when I moved one of the treble hooks went right into my side. I couldn't see it or bend enough to see it to know how bad it was or if I could get it out. So I went into the woods for a bit to mess with it and I just couldn't get it out. So, I went back to my truck and loaded up and drove around the park looking for an office or nurses station. No luck
So, I call my wife's parents and see if they are home. The don't live far from the park. They are. So I drive over to their place and ring the door bell. I said "I bet you never thought this would happen when I married your daughter." I showed them what happened and they worked on getting it out. My shirt got cut up a bit. I didn't care. Then they could see the hook. I still couldn't. It had turned all the way under so it couldn't back out, and it was small enough they couldn't cut the back of the hook.
They say it isn't in too deep so I ask them to just cut the skin to get it out. It works on the movies so why not?
They had some scissors and wiped them with rubbing alcohal and then snip snip. That hurt. At least the hook is out. I think I'm going to throw away this lure or sell it. Right after I got it I lost it outside by the pond. It was run over by a lawnmower and was fine. I guess this is how it repays me for losing it. Just thought I would share.
