First I'd like to welcome you to the site. I wish I could help you with your question but we get few if any reports from the Price area. Hopefully one of the guys can help with your question but you could also try asking your question on the Utah Fly Fishing board, here is a link to the board.

I usually fish downstream fro the colton bridge to the railroad bridge. There are some really nice holes along that stretch. Crawlers and grasshoppers have allways done well for me. Go just over the Colton bridge and there is a dirt road on the left that will take you down by the river.

Good Luck

That is great stretch of river to fish. If you start at the bridge near the turnoff to Emma Park and fish upstream, there are some nice fish. I have even caught a few Tiger Trout along that stretch using flat fish, and Mepps size 2 spinners (red white blade).

The entire stretch from Emma Park Bridge to the Colton Bridge has nice fish, great holes, and little to no tree cover.

I've caught some real decent browns with pointer minnows the ghost and rainbow color ones seem to work the best. As for flies, i wouldn't know.

Welcome aboard
the afore mentioned areas are generally quite good, however, due to the construction on the colton bridge these last few weeks the river downstream from the colton bridge (the bridge that crosses the river a few mile past the scofield turn) has been muddied up on most days. This has greatly impacted the downstream fishing.
If you have 4 wheel drive, I recomend crossing over the colton bridge a couple miles, there is a fishermans access road marked by a dwr sign on the right. It will drop you into the river (appr. 10 mile drive) about half way between scofeild and the colton bridge. Once you reach the river head upstream for some excellant fishing and great scenery. Be respectful while there. The dwr has an arrangemant with the private owners for this access, we don't want to lose it. Good luck. I was there last week twice and did well.

Sweet! Any special regs there? Will a car with some clearance make it?

I would'nt advise a car. You could do it (semi rough mountain dirt road) But if there's a few drops of rain you'll be up the creek in another way (not the fun way)

I fogot to answer, spec. regs. is artificial flys and lures only
