We have been trying to figure out the cat fish here at Milner and have been struggling. 2 weekends skunked. One home by 2am (Perch Point) the other by 4am (Bass Point). We had been using stinkbaits, minnows and shrimp on the end of a slip sinker and a slip bobber.

We did get some nibbles but no takers, so this time we left at 5:30am and fished till noon from shore and float tube and toons. Fly fishing for carp or what ever. Draging a jig with a worm, crankbaits and just a worm on a hook.

Had nibbles again from shore and a few hits on the jig, none on the fly or crankbaits, but the winner was the worm and the hook with no weight while trolling in the toon by my friend. Only 1 fish but the game is on now.

The cove we were in was quite shallow 2-4' and had grass on the bottom. I thinks the jigs were in the grass and the worm on the hook was staying on top and insight.

Some people that were on the point where we were the weekend before and a good night for cats. So all is better now and there is hope. Can't wait till the next outing, heres a few pics[Wink]

Thanks for the update. I do not know anything about catfishing in that area. I wish we had more around here. The kids loved catching them in oxbow this year.
