I am sponsored by and use the Strike King Red Eye Shad quite often. The Sexy Shad happens to be one of the better colors for clear water fishing.

Stained water patterns are best with the: 06, 17, 30, 50, and 83 colors depending on what the color of the baitfish are in your area.[cool]

I'm not sure if he made the color but he must have had some influence on it.

Any of the pros and/or tackle test teams like me can offer suggestions for the Reasearc and Developement dept to make.

They send us the next version and we fish them under the optimal conditions as well as lower conditions for that particular color.

We report back with the results and suddenly you have some new colors that actually work.[cool]

I've had good luck with the 1/2 oz S.K. rattle trap lure in that color. In fact, I need to order a new one or two... stuck one in some submerged timber yesterday. I put a Sureset hook on the rear end of it and I think that contributed to the hang-up.

On the flip side, I bought some S.K. Shadalicious in sexy shad and have had no luck whatsoever with them.

The Sexy color scheme is more of a local color in some of the eastern waters. I have only had success in very few waters of NH, NC, OK,PA and IA. A select few waters that is. It is not meant for all waters but does imitate the particular bait fish for those bodies of water.

I have some patterns that will slay in several states and won't even get touched in others. That's why there are so many different colors available.[cool]
