I am looking at taking a guided trip up to the Gorge and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on who some of the best guides are? I am looking to go with about 3 of my friends for a half day or full day.
One of my firends has heard the Conquest Expeditions is a good outfit to go with up there. We are hoping to go the first part of September.
I have not been to the Gorge in several years and thought this might be kind of fun. If any of you know a good outfit from there I would appreciate the info.
We would like to target kokanee, rainbows, and some macks if time permits.

Since you want to target the diffrent species like you have mentioned, Concuest will be a good bet. Kyle will take good care of you. You just better give him a call right away to see if he has any open dates. The Kokanee fishing is winding down for the year. Bows and macs will be around. If you want to go after strctly macs, Get a hold Of Jim Williams or PM him on here. He goes by Tarpon JIM. You wont go wrong with Jim. He is all catch and release with the large macs. Good luck

Thanks for the info. When you say the Kokanee are winding down, how long until there done.
Also, I have heard that the meat on a Red Kokanee is not that great to eat. Is this true? I guess if it is I can always mount it if it is big enough.

They get mushy when they turn read and the fishing guide says all kokanee caught between sept 10 and nov 30th must be released. WH2

I suggest you search this board for posts on FG guides. There's at least a few. Those posts will tell you about the styles/personalities of the guides. And they are different, and that might be important if you're going to spend at least a half-day in close quarters.

I just saw Kyle and talked to him at the fish cleaning station just over an hour ago. He SLAYED the kokes this morning. I mean, just about constantly hooked up for 4 hours. Unbelievable, but true!
Mack fishing is its usual tough, but productive, nearly every morning. My boat got a 32, 26, 20, and an 18 this morning, and lost a couple. Missed quite a few bites as well. It was a bit better than average for this time of year, but I had some experienced anglers on board who were fishing very hard and very focused.
If you want a mixed bag for 4 people, I'd highly recommend Kyle at Conquest Expeditions.
If you want a sore back, a sore neck, a slight headache, and want to stand up and hold your rod and set your own hook to catch a big mack, pm me. My max. load is 3, no exceptions. My style isn't easy though. You work for your big fish.

If you want big Mac's go with Jim...
To fish for Koks or Macs plan on a day for each is best...

Well................. There you have it. The decision is yours now. You got it straight from the man Jim himself. You wont go wrong either way.
Have fun and good luck!
