If you don't have to have a pole in hand to enjoy fish, then head up Mores Creek to enjoy tons of kokanee heading up to spawn. It is quite a site this year. Unfortunately, the F & G has reported lots of violators with nets or snag hooks. We stopped at one campground and talked to some elderly campers who said they were coming in in the early morning with large, creek-wide nets. Why? Who would want to eat them at this state, and why would you risk a major fine to do so? I really think they should just shut down the fishing during this period of time. Let them do there thing. OK, enough preaching. Head up and enjoy the show!!! Mike

You got that right! I was doing a little gold panning along the creek and quite a few kokes swam by while I was there.

On the drive up I saw whole families snagging fish. The things parents teach their kids amazes me. One guy was standing out in the middle of the creek with a boat fish net netting them as they swam by. What are these people thinking? Glad to hear that F&G is aware of the situation.

Another cool place to watch them is at the Deadwood Reservoir inlet. We counted over 15 bald eagles eating the dead fish along the bank.
