Decided to take a good buddy (BFTer AReelMan) up to my "honey hole lake" up North to confirm my last report of over 30 fish. Got there really early this morning and on the water before the sun came up. Matt asked me what he should set his goal at and I told him I was shooting for 45 this time, so he went ahead and set his at 15. Well everything worked as planned for him, he netted 18 with a TOAD of a Bluegill, 1 lb 1 oz (see pic, doesnt do it justice)!!! I ended up just short of my goal of 45 with 42, but who would complain about that right? I had 39 LMB, 2 Perch and 1 Bluegill. My hand hurt so bad from castin, settin the hook and reelin that we finally called it a day at 2, so another AWESOME day on the water!!! All were caught on "MY FAVORITE LURE" except Matt caught one on his Banjo Minnow that made him happy since he has about 3 million of the darn things and spent $90 for that garbage!!! [laugh] Oh yeah, largest fish was only 2.12 LB, but there were quite a few in the 2 lb range!!!

Nice report. Is your favorite lure that jointed shad rap you have in your other post, just wondering. I'm not gonna go to your honey hole or anything.

Yep, maybe I should change my name from Trout_Slayer to Double-Jointed Rapala!!!! I think I have only caught 10 or so trout this year. Those trash fish "bass" keep taking my lure before I can hook into a trout!!![:p] HAHAHA

seeing him fish with thise things, well for me it is, he always gets on my nerves when it comes to trying to snag a lure out of his tackle box!

Nice job Koch. I may hit up the other spot this weekend. I need to get my boy up there. I am probably going to go up on Sunday. What time did you leave your house? I don't want to leave too early.

[#000050] Justin,[/#000050]
[#000050]you are going to need a new tackle box lid pretty soon. You marked 32 fish the other day and 42 this trip. No place left to mark except maybe on your head.... [cool][/#000050]

if thats the case then he will have enough room to mark days like his past few for months since its so big!

TFS,
Matt and I left the house at around 4:15 and had the boat on the water just as you could tell the sun was trying to come up. We didnt take off until it was a little lighter out so we could see if you know what I mean. But after setting everything up (fish finder, poles, etc) I caught my first fish on the second cast, so the earlier the better and I wish I would have used so top water, because those first few in the morning and a few in the afternoon hit it just as it hit the water!!! Let me know how you do. I MIGHT go back up Saturday with my Dad, but I would have to be back here by 1 or 2 soooooo.......we'll see.

Nice report TS.
Would someone help me here? What the heck is a "Double Jointed" Rapala. We are all pretty much familar with the Rapala JR series that has one joint. But a "double jointed"?????
[signature]
May I ask where in Idaho? Or better yet the nearest city?
[signature]
the nearest city is preston. a double jointed rapala is actually single jointed rapala. we just started calling thwm that a few years back and havent stopped. fire tiger and shad colors seem to work best.
[signature]
Like my big bro (kochanut) said the nearest city is Preston. There is probably 8-10 lakes in a 25 mile radius of there that are just Awesome for Bass, Great for Trout and Superb for Bluegill/Crappie!!!

Old Coot,
Yeah youre right, it is just a single jointed Rapala, but like my brother (kochanut) mentioned way back when, we must have had a few too many "cold ones" and one of us probably hollered at the other to throw one of those "double-jointers" and it stuck!!! Didnt mean to confuse anyone!!! I did have a couple pictures of them on my first report back on Saturday!!! They are the jointed ones with the fatter front body and skinnier tail section!!! Any "flavor" will work with the bass. I have caught them from Silver Shad, Blue Shad, Walleye, Fire Tiger, Fire Crawdad, Baby Bass and a Mustard Color one too, so it doesnt matter!!!
