If you are interested in late season kokanee fishing, Lucky Peak is still producing. I drove up there today and talked to a couple in a boat pulling out. They were trolling flies on the surface, and caught two limits yesterday, but far fewer today. Heard from another fellow that hit them at 35' on a downrigger. Running up to 12". Should be good sized next year. Speaking of which, I really feel strongly about the need to ban kokanee fishing once the runs start up streams and rivers. I feel that should also include catch and release. Once they make it this far, let them do their thing and continue the cycle. The main problem, as explained to me by a fishery biologist on the Payette River above Payette Lake (before it was banned there) is that every time a fisherman with waders walks across the redds, they kill literally thousands of future fish. This year was fishing at its ugliest on Mores Creek, above Lucky Peak. Nets, snag hooks, etc. were everywhere.( I don't understand why you would even want to eat them at this stage in their life. Not quality fish by a mile!) I understand this rant doesn't apply to the good sportsmen represented on this site. Just some random thoughts. Mike

I do not know anything about Kokes on your side of the state but at Ririe I thought the Kokes were sterile so that the F&G could control the population if they needed to remove them. The Kokes are false spawning at the boat dock right now.

In the case where there is natural reproduction I would agree with you.
