Sturgeon Fishing from Idaho Report

Quick [fishin] Report

Fished before, during, & after a big storm front for Sturgeon - only got rained on for about 2 hours.

Total for 2 1/2 days - 12 fish

Two were over 8 feet - one 8' 2" and one 8'5" - both fought approx. 40 mins. Larger one jumped twice - smaller one only jumped once but came up and looked us right in the eye on that jump - pretty amazing.

Four were between 5' and 5' 6" -- most jumped at least once.

Lesson Leaned - fish bite in all kinds of weather.

My camera only only got pictures of a couple of the fish but thought I would post the report rather than wait for other pictures. Enjoy.

I have one planned, it is just a case of how my employment situation plays out whether or not it happens.

No Salmon fishing this year but I am next year for sure - I took 3 guys up this year and a great time. They wanted to make plans to go up in October after the elk hunt but I am going to let them down easy and make them wait till next year. It's never too good to give more candy to the kids when they are on a sugar high already. One of the guys said he was dreaming about the TV crew doing a interview with him about the nine foot sturgeon he caught. I have got my "Big Fish Fix" for the year and it was sure great to get both thumbs burned from the reel spool fighting those big ones. The other boys were complaining about their foreams and backs hunting.
