Heading to ST. George next weekend. So I am looking to see if there are any spots to fly fish around there. I will be there Friday – Sunday, my mother in law is running the marathon. So I thought I would bring a long the fly rod. So if you know of any lakes, rivers, or ponds that are good fishing let me know please. Just looking for about anything to get the rod wet and catch some fish. [cool] Thanks

Quail Creek and Sand Hollow Reservoirs are just 10 minutes or so north.
Leeds Creek is another 5-10 minutes north.
Skyline Pond is a community pond up on Skyline Blvd. Never fished it and don't know if anything survives over the summer in it given the extreme heat and such as small pond. Nice view up there anyway if you get desperate and try it. Probable would check if the stock it this time of year.

I don't know if you're into fly fishing for bass, but I would go to Sand Hollow. I've been there a lot this summer and had good success. Although I don't fly fish, I would assume that you would have success. I would take the dirt road that goes around to the northeast part of the lake where there is a lot of brush growing in the water. You may have to wade out a little bit.
If you are looking for trout waters near St. George, you are in for a little longer of a drive this time of year. Kolob Reservoir is about an hour drive. A little closer is the Santa Clara River on Pine Valley mountain. It contains small Brown and Rainbow Trout. Most other trout waters are a little further drive.
Hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck!
