This will surely come out in the news, but I thought I would post this info up anyway. Recent advisories recommend that PREGNANT WOMEN and CHILDREN avoid eating certain species of fish from certain waters due to elevated mercury levels: JOE'S VALLEY: Splake over 12 inches; NEWCASTLE: Rainbow Trout. (adults should not eat more than one 8 oz per month); UPPER ENTERPRISE Res.: Rainbow Trout; WEBER RIVER: Brown Trout; CALF CREEK: Brown Trout, not more than two 4-oz. servings per month; JORDANELLE: Smallmouth Bass; PORCUPINE: Brown Trout; SAND HOLLOW: Largemouth Bass; ROCK CREEK below Upper Stillwater: Brown Trout over 12 inches; EAST FORK SEVIER RIVER between Otter Cr. and Piute Res: Brown Trout; PINE CREEK: Brown Trout For most of these, adults should limit their consumption to two 8-oz. servings per month. Mercury is naturally occurring in the environment, and these advisories are due to increased sampling and studies, not to increased pollution of these waters. So don't panic, nothing has really changed. Chronic exposure to mercury in fish may lead to neurological effects in developing fetus and children
