I heard today that Stone had been drained down all the way so I drove out to check it out. The irrigation company had to put a new safety grate over the outlet and so drained the water almost completely out of the reservoir. I guess the water was 1 to 2 feet deep at most now. Most of the fish went down the outlet into the creek. There were hundreds of carp in the shallow creek trying to stay alive, and many already dead. I thought I would see trout and bass there also, but couldn't see anything but carp. I looked down the creek in several places along the side road bridges holes and culverts thinking they would be there but never found any. Maybe they went far enough down stream to where springs feed the creek and they will have enough fresh water to survive. From the dam I could see some carp still swimming in the reservoir, but not many. I don't know if the state will re-stock it or not. One landowner I talked to said they have had problems with the State and cared less about having fish in it for fishermen. Acey
