A friend and went to Mantua looking for some bluegill and some perch. Well I saw one perch think about it for a second but that was it. The trout were all over the pond and hitting our tube jig real well. We had them hit on top, off the bottom and in the middle. We were out there from about 9 till about 11. the wind came up and we decided to get off before the wind took our inflatable across the lake.

Hey there timberhall i too was there yesterday from 9 to 230 with my neighbor the deputy sherriff..I think i seen you an your partner while i was launchin my boat you guys were packin the raft down..We fished the channel for the most part .. I was in search of perch but only managed 8 total biggest 11 in rest were good for cut bait for later.. As for trout fishin holy cow !!! We caught well over 40 bows an cuttbows .. We were usin kastmasters an crappie tubes ..Biggest fish were 2 bows at 23 in close to 2 lbs.. Sorry no pics from me all on deputys camera..fish on..FISHAMANIAC..[

How do you locate the chanel? Is where the creek runs into the lake on the south side?

] Locating the channel isnt too hard too do if you have sonar.. You can also find it when the waters not too choppy just by locatin the weed edge on both sides..If you leave from the launch an head due east you should come over the top of it once you have gotten even with the big point on the east side with the little bald hill on it..No more than 1/4 mile from launch .. hope it helps.. Channel was 7ft deep from where it starts up to 13ft where it opens up into the main bay...fish on..FISHAMANIAC [
