I went and fished the berry the other day. I did not get my pontoon boat on the water until after 10 am. I ended up with 9 fish. That is a fairly average day for me on Strawberry, but still it is great fun. I used a medium sinking line with a fly of my own making for 8 of the fish. The final fish I caught was huge (forgot a tape - which I was grateful for when I got home and did not have to clean fish) and I caught that on what sportsman's warehouse calls a "White Griz". What a great reservoir.
I am originally from Idaho and I may always consider myself an Idahoan. I miss the fishing there, but I have to say, I will miss Strawberry if I Can't stay in the state when I graduate (I am finishing up with my Phd in Mechanical Engineering soon). I am excited to at least get a month or so of ice fishing on the Berry this winter. All the people I have met while fishing have been very kind to this out of stater. Thanks!
