I may make it down to Otter Creek this weekend. I've never been there before, although I have heard a lot of good reports. Nothing lately though. Has anyone been there in the last few weeks? Any advice on how to fish, what to use, etc. would be greatly appreciated. For instance, can you catch fish by casting out from the shore, or should I take along my float tube?

I havn't fished Otter Creek without ice on it. I did make 3 trips out there this last winter and we were killing them with pink and white paddle bugs tiped with worms or wax worms. I would take the boat and try jigging in the 12-15ft range.[fishin]

Fishing from shore can be very productive. I'd try a pointer or spinner first. A fly behind a bubble can also be effective. Power bait and/or nightcrawlers if you want to bait fish. The fish there really like garlic. I usually put some on my nightcrawlers. The rainbows were shallow and full of eggs at Piute last week. They are probably the same at Otter Creek. The little point next to the boat ramp is a good place to fish from shore. Also, the point directly across from the state park, if you don't want to pay.

Thanks! That's exactly the information I needed.
