Hey All-

I have a chance to go fishing tomorrow. I have a choice to either hike up into some of the higher lakes to try for some late season Brookies/Cutts or stay down low and take the boat up to Strawberry, East Canyon or Deer Creek. I would love to do either, but can't decide. Any opinions???

Best,

I wouldn't pass up an opportunity for the Uinta's and some camping, but that is just me.

Yeah, just wondered if the cool weather has turned the fishing off yet. In the teens at night and some snow already up there. Last year we went to the Granddaddy's about this same time and caught only a few all day. They had started their winter slow down early.

Stay lower. It is getting pretty cold up there. Probably skim ice on the lakes in the am.[Wink]

That certainly is something to consider. The DWR guy said on the 22nd that there was new snow in the high elevations, but access was still good. He also said fishing was good. Probably should move on elsewhere if the fishing is slow on a certain lake.

They just stocked a bunch of bows up at Deer Creek, so it should be probably better than normal for some dumb hatchery trout.

I think we'll go up to Crystal, Long, & Wier Lakes and see what's up. If we strike out or find ice, we'll work back down to Deer Creek. Thanks for the input guys! I'll post a report later Saturday.
