[#800000]Yes it was a stellar Two days at the berry, Old Coot asked me to join him on a 2 day outing with his friends and then the next day with a scouting group.
We started out Day One on Friday early in the AM (3:30) and hooked up at Sportsman’s we drove to Heber City were the temps where dropping from the 35* we had in Clearfield, When we got to the Renegade boat ramp it was 13* (Cold) as my wife put it “we must love the sport of fishing at this temp-or your crazy”, (I think it is both) the water was 47* with fog coming off the lake, we headed over to Old Coot honey hole and tossed in the line and lure, my first cast FISH ON, WOW what a nice Cut:[/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000][inline Ron-cut.gif][/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000] turned him loose (Within the slot limit) and a few minutes later my old time buddy of 22 years, Doug hooked into a Cut:[/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000][inline "Doug's-first.gif"][/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000] then a Bow, after that we had a dry spell, I could here Coot catching them from the yahooing going on, Doug put on a bubble and a hook, and plastered the hook with power bait (we were desperate at this point), Doug cast the bubble out and let it sit a spell while the power bait sank to the bottom, a minute later BAM fish on, and it was nice Cut, Then I hit a Small bow:[/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000][inline Mighty-Minnow.gif][/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000] at this time Old Coot decided to move to the east side (bummer the sun was out and we were moving to the darker side of the lake) Cold again, we got anchored up and I cast out a Lucky Craft and Bam thank you Mama another nice Cut, Doug cast out a power bait and fish on again, (Weird-Power bait was working) we spent some time in this area and got many fish, then Old Coot decided to hit his other favorite place, I was still a virgin with the locations and fishing berry so we followed Coot to his place, again anchored and started casting into the bank, I (FishNCoach) was having a dry spell while Doug was pulling in 2-3 Cuts and 2 Bows on Power bait, So I changed out to a Bubble and hook with powers bait (Lemon Twist) let it sink to the bottom, then Wham-O Fish on then another, at one time we had 3 fish on at the same time (double pole permit) , we found our notch with the fish, then Coot and the gain needed to head home, we were very tired at this point (No sleep, and traveling) So we headed into Heber and stayed the night, I was in bed at 9:00pm (Pooped tired) End Of Day One
Started day Two at 05:30 at the scout camp, met up with Old Coot and he went over the fishing lessens for the little guys and there dads (Some never fished before, and not even out of a nice boat) There were 3 boats and 10-11 people, we headed straight out to the area that we finished fishing from the night before, anchored up and started casting out Lucky Crafts and Wal-Mart lures (Wal-Mart got 2 fish) in this location the Scout got 2[/#800000]

[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000] and Doug 3, and I run Dry (many hits, or weeds) after a few hours talked Old Coot into moving to another area he suggested Salamander bay area, headed east, and then though a narrow area, I hit Prop on the bottom (1-2 feet deep) finely got through O.K. after a nick in the prop, got in to the S-bay area and tried to mark fish on the finder nothing was really marking, and the far south end had a lot of moss and low water, so I decided to try someplace else, and being a virgin to the berry headed North East not knowing were we were going (Later found out it was the Narrows and were the old Dam site was) Put in the anchor, we were about 30-40 feet from the point shore area, now the wind was starting to pick up (10:30 am) all 4 polls into the water, And one after the other hit fish (All Cuts) we landed 4 fish in a 10 min time then Doug changed out to the Power-Bait again and he could not keep the fish off:[/#800000]

[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000] he pulled in 3 in 5 min, and the father an boy then landed 3 more, FishNCoach was busy trying to keep the boat in one place at this time the wind was bad, waves at about 2-3-4 feet waves, I had a poll out dangling off the boat with Power Bait on the hook, and from the movement of the boat and the wind it was moving the hook in a natural way under the boat, Doug and the Scout said I had a fish, I pulled on the line and it was loose as if nothing was there, I said that it is now time to get out of here the wind was bad, I pulled in my line and to my surprise a fish was on, as it got closer to the boat I could see it was no ordinary fish, A BIG BAD boy, I was afraid to get it in the boat, and needed to keep the fish in the water for fear of loosing it, DOUG finally was able to net it, It was a 24 ½ “ Cut at 5 ½ lbs (Biggest trout I have ever caught):[/#800000]
[#800000][/#800000]

[#800000][/#800000]
[#800000] I was WOW what a way to end the vacation and fun, I must say as Coot put it I am now no Virgin of the berry. And now knows were the Dam site is for fishing, I am a guy that wants to fish the berry every chance I get.
Thanks Old Coot for the inviting FishNCoach, Doug and the scouts, we all had a great time, and the scouts loved every minute as I did.[/#800000]
