[#000000]That's great to hear! Not that the burbot are so many and big but that you slayed some.[/#000000]
[#000000][/#000000]
[#000000]Tell me where do you like to put the boat in that area? We almost got stuck real bad this April trying to back it up through the dang mud. [/#000000]

[#000000]So it sounds like you the burbot were pretty shallow this time then? Did they bite good all night and did they move deeper? Also, how do you like to fish from your boat at night? Do you just anchor down or drift a little? I am curious because I plan to make some changes on mine to make it easy for night fishing.[fishin][/#000000]

A friend was down around swim beach in 80 ft of water trying to jig for macks and all they caught was burbot, some were as large as 28'. I had no idea they were as shallow as you caught them this time of the year.
Thanks for posting your report Ash, it has been a while since your last one[Wink]. How much do you think the largest burbot weighed?

I know that area well. Problem is, no boat! [frown] Do have a float tube though. Would go if I knew I'd have a real good chance of finding those burbs with my tube. Pretty far for me and don't have many nickeIs. Usually hit the confluence on the w. side. ??? Any suggestions?

Same question...where did you launch? I've only fished out of Lucerne with the boat but have tools, will travel [Wink]. What is the closest ramp to the confluence? When, give or take, does the ice come on the north end?

yum yum. rest assured I will do my best to take all the burbs that are allowed by law... Nice report and wtg

Sweet report Ash. Were you deadstickin' it near the bottom like you were this summer, or actively jiggin' it?

We were icefishing Firehole on 4 inches of ice last year on December 9th. The year before I fished the same area on December 30th and had 11 inches of ice. It's been pretty warm this fall though.......

i put in at buckboard and tracked my way up lake fished 30-40ft with glow grubs more dead stickin than jigin no more than 10'' off bottom tiped with sucker strip and a drop or two of crawfish smelly jelly same pattern as ice but in a boat you can move all over bring head lamp and spot light to glow the jig and find your way back to BB if you dont track it watch out for ducks on the way in lol i aint bsin dang coots i only fished till around 10 then headed in to clean slimers i stay on top of the spots using my electric motor no anchors allowed in my boat your fishing edges of shelfs so you cant be swingin all over or else you drop off in to deep water.
