I am not impressed with this advertisement, would the Moderators look in to this!! [frown]
When my daughter or wife looks at some of the fish reports and see this kind of crap out there they really wonder about BFT . Like my wife said “ YOU BELONG TO THIS” [crazy]
This kind of thing needs to be removed from the advertisement area, if I want to buy or get this stuff, I will go there by some other way, NOT while showing my daughter pic’s of fish. NOT PLEASED[:/]
Please look into this, THANKS

I have reported your concern on a forum that is seen by the administrators. Be aware that the decision on advertisers is not made by the moderators of BFT.

thanks for bringing this up, it's a concern to me as well (I like to look at BFT at work) and don't need any trouble there.

I know it is not a moderator thing, however I did not know where to turn to for this matter. THANKS again....

I agree it is smut.. I thought this was a family site.

i dont understand. its a woman in a bathing suit. how is that considered smut? would it be considered smut if someone on here posts a pic of them self fishing at powell during the summer and he has his shirt off, or is wearing a tank top?
i guess i just come from a different background where things are accepted differently then another persons, which is fine.
im not trying to start anything, i would just like to hear your views/opinions.

I would just rather not have anything that could be misconstrued by my co-workers or family. Otherwise it wouldn't be that big of a deal. But I do like the site and think it would be a pity if it was suddenly blocked from my work's censors.

I agree. Its a bathing suit. I don't read more into it than what it is. I don't believe they will be getting their advertising money back to move on either. My 13 year old son just recently spent 3 days on the beach in San Diego seeing much worse.

oh ok i guess i understand. everyone has different views on different subjects, i was just wondering what yours was is all. thanks for clearing it up!

Smut????? really this is nothing that you wouldn't see at a public beach,or a swimming pool.

If that is smut they need to shut down the local pool.

I really like the ear rings!
FNC, we have made it aware to admin about dislike of some of the ads, and they are not willing to loose the money these advertisers pay for the welfare of a couple of people. I don't see it going anywhere any time soon.[cool]

I don't see any ads on BFT -- or on most other sites for that matter. I use Firefox, and an add-on called Adblock. You can block ads from anywhere you'd like. I also turn off viewing of people's avatars, cause sometimes people have avatars that I'd rather not see.
To each his own.

[#000000]Where is this advertisement? I want to see what all the fuss is about. [pirate][/#000000]
[#000000]Never mind, I just saw it. How is this any different than the advertisements for undergarments at say Walmart, Mervyns, JC Penny? Like everyone is saying, it is just a lady in swimwear. [/#000000]
[#000000][/#000000]
[#000000]On a side note, I went to this advertiser's website. They have some great, awesome T-shirts. I love the one with the kokanee salmon, largmouth, and rainbow, and sturgeion. In fact I am going to buy me some, and some more to give to friends/family. Check it out.

Well.................................. I think its all in how you look at it. We see the same thing on TVon prime time viewing. Its also nothing more than what you would see at a public beach and or at a public pool.
I do not consider this Smut at all. The world has changed no doubt about it.
There is a whole lot worse out there going on around us.

I saw this post earlier but did not take it serious but I see it's still around. let me give you a glimpse into my world, just bear with me...I try not to watch the news, it's very depressing but this is what I see in my own opinion, people are dying for a war that will never end, children are beaten, abused, locked up in bathrooms and luckily escape, pot is being grown in the ol' hunting ground, illegal immigrants have more rights than we do, Bored? let's go shoot up a campus of innocent people, what about Trolley Square?, 9-11? Too much? Heck, let's spray paint some stuff that nobody can read, how about some senseless vandalism? OOH! I know! How about we glorify female 'musicians and stars' and let our children think that beauty and stupitidy go together.
Really, of all the screwed up crap going on in the world you think 'a woman in a bikini with fishing stuff' advertisment on big fish tackle is going to change you or your familys' life?
WOW! I think I need to go fishing...

Officially, the Hot Fish ad doesn't violate any of BFT's guidelines for inappropriate content. We try to display ads for products that our user base (in general) would be interested in.
It is our view that there is nothing obscene or even suggestive about the ad. So far the majority of responses about the ad have reinforced this position. If a significant number of users believe the ad is inappropriate, we will review it and make a determination based on the feedback we receive.
As many users have said, you'd likely see the same or worse at any public swimming pool, beach, or other family destination. At this time, we do not feel action to remove the ad is warranted.
If anyone would like to comment on this issue further, please email BFT at: mgh@bigfishtackle.com

I agree John, Sometimes it's a matter of choosing your battles. There are far more important things in life than a bikini clad female in a fishwear ad. Hell, my wife just got a catalog from Vic's secret that shows waaaaay more skin. I guess the important thing to remember here is choice, we all have chosen to participate in this site.

If it was the babes bass fishing calender add, then you might have to worry about the wife. But I dont see it that inapropriate.

Here is what I do.
Use Firefox for your internet browser, then install their ad-block plus extension(I put the links you need at the bottom of the post).
Remember when they had those Ads for "Find Singles in Your Area".. those were gone from my viewing the first day I saw them.. they were annoying to me, so, I got rid of them. I think I remember the ad you are talking about in this post. But it was gone for me the first time it came up, and have never seen it since.
When an add comes up that you don't like.. R-Click on the add and say "Block Image". The image never comes up again on your computer. Or, if there are just too many advertisements in general.. you can get rid of a lot of clutter on many sites throughout the web.
