Hooked up the Crestliner and made the drive last Wed. 5 walleyes and numerous trout. The eyes went from 18 to 23 in. and the rainbows are pretty good size.
If you go the fish are hitting cranks along with crawler harnesses.
500 miles to catch 5 fish (I don't count trout) [crazy] Darned expensive walleye dinner [frown]

Good to hear you got out there and caught a few Roger, too bad the numbers weren't higher but at least the gas prices are down. How far did you go up lake to find some active fish?

did you night fish? also were you casting cranks into shorelines? night fishing looks like it been hot on sf.

Went up lake as far as you can go. The lake level is waaaay down. Probably 20 feet or more than when we fished the tournament in June.
Lots of barely sumerged hazards. I wasen't about to run that lake after dark. So no night fishing for me.
We pulled and casted cranks to the bank. Casting produced a couple of fish.
I actually had more bites on a crawler harness rig than cranks. The fish were short biting and I missed quite a few until I started feeding them until I felt weight then I started hooking up.
Probably should have had 15 to 20 fish if I wasen't being so anxious to set the hook.[crazy]
