Im wanting to apply to hunt in wyoming next year for antelope and was wondering if anyone here has hunted it and how hard is it to get a tag and what unit

I have hunted pronghorns in Wyoming several times. Some units have permits leftover. Alot of these are made up of private land and the only way to get on is to pay the landowner. Many of these are in the middle of the state north of casper near Kaycee. Some of the closer units are hard to draw. If populations are good then the kemmer area is a possibility. Usually lots of permits. The hardest unit to draw when I hunted there was the one between Mountain View and flaming gorge. The last couple of tries were usuccessful and I found out the chance of drawing was about 8%. Look for a unit that has a fair amount of public land unless ou don't mind paying tresspass fees. You might contact Wyoming game and fish I know they have the results of drawings from past years. gshorthair

Wy. went to the points system several years ago and I believe antelope are included, start building up points for the better areas, they do charge for using the points system, you can also apply without using the point system. WY. is much better at getting their draw odds and success rates posted on their Web site to aid in doing some research. You could also try contacting WYOBRAZ with a PM he is very helpful.[:p]
