I was told that Bass Pro Shop has pick up a piece of land at 7200 south and about 9000 west by the Jordan river....

They are to start building this next summer...

Lol, "7200 south and about 9000 west" you better check your sources. We're going to need a 4x4 to get there.[Wink]

that'll be one big store if it reaches all the way from 9000 west to the jordan river. [Wink]

Sorry hit the wrong key 700 its a big open place next to the Jordan river from what was said they plan to use some of the space to make a small lake to let people test there boats before they buy...

That might be kinda nice.

That would make for a little piece of heaven in our own backyard!!!! For those of you that have not been to BPS it decimates our local Cabelas when it comes to fishing equipment...love this place...also has pretty good food! (always a bonus in my book) Smile
I second that one! Cabelas is wayyyyy overpriced and the selection succccckkkkkssssssss.

All the sporting goods companies are hurting big time. Cabelas stock has dropped 60% this year alone! In desperation they have tried to buy Sportsmans warehouse a few times with no luck. Neither one of them can keep the basics on their shelves (if you havent been to one lately). They will tell you is no shortage of money but I know otherwise.....

All I have to say is Come on BPS!

Sounds pretty sweet. I hope they have the boat i'm looking for, it's my turn to go shopping.

that is pritty close to home. [cool] a while ago someone posted about a lake on the jordan for cabelas to do the same thing but that was at the narrows. hope its so.

BPS is from what I was told trying to get some tax breaks, the story came from a realastate com. that said BPS picked up an option on the land...

That post you are referring to came out on April 1st. [blush]

700 south and 900 west? Isn't that like I-80 and BFE? Can you build out on that land? It's just north of the landfill. I think it would be sweet if there was a BPS. That just seems like a wierd location?

No not 700 so...Its 7200 south and about 900 west by the Jordan river...

Ahhh! That makes more sense.[Smile]

I gave a shout to BPS and this is what they told me... Thank you for your interest in Bass Pro Shops and our retail expansion. We are currently not building any stores in Utah. We are proud of our retail stores and believe that they offer a unique way to experience the outdoors while getting the best value in premium outdoor gear. We do our best to keep the information on the website as current as possible. If you hear a rumor about a store and do not find information on the site, it is possible that we may be exploring options in the area but no contracts have been signed, or it is possible that it really is just a rumor. Even if a store is fully announced, delays can occur in construction operations that cause opening dates to change. Be sure to stay tuned to our website for the most up to date information available.

Like I said, I was told they have an option on the land and was trying to get some tax incentive...

Once that is done they should come out and tell us all if its true...Cabela's got some tax incentives didn't they and then came out and told us they were building here...

But then what I heard could just be a roomer like the other ones before, we'll just have to waite and see...

[font "Comic Sans MS"][#800000][size 4]I'm guessing they won't confirm or deny ANY possible new locations until actual contracts have been signed to keep the costs of land purchase at reasonable levels. But it sure would be grand to see a BPS store in the SLC area. [cool][/size][/#800000][/font]

Ya, I asked if they could verify or deny a store being built. I'd love to see one here in Utah.
