I didn't want to hijack the other fish finder post so here is my deal. I have a Lowrance X-105 color fishfinder and a lowrance x-52. I'd like to use the 105 for ice fishing this season (I like the color screen) and was wondering if somebody could help me set it up to be the best it can be as far as sensitivity and all the other options you can tweak. It has a flasher screen on it but I don't understand how that little circle works [frown] but if you can explain that as well it would be great and if the x-52 would be better to use than I'm willing to use that instead. I met some BFT'ers on the ice last year at the Gorge and he was watching his jig on the screen, that's what I want.
Funny thing is that I've been using finders ever since my first boat and I (am embarrassed) don't even know how to optimize them for ice conditions. Maybe I do [:/], but I'd feel better knowing how to do it before I got on the ice and started messing with everything.
