i am hitting the nelle on saturday chasing some browns... can anyone give me some tips??? such as areas or depth that fish may be holding at?? or possibly color patterns or lure size... should i focus on structure, cast and pound points... or maybe a trolling speed ....
at echo i usually just troll big plugs and swimbaits ... and whack bows on small rapalas with the second pole while i wait for a toad...
any information will be very helpfull and highly appreciated...

Right after ice off I caught quite a few browns trolling rainbow and brown trout rapalas. If I remember the jointed rapala in rainbow was the best. I went three times and trolled from the marina all along the shore north until I wrapped around and was across from the marina (if that makes sense?). Biggest was right around 24" and still in there. Across the north side of the lake and into the northeast side was the best area for us. Hope you get a lunker.[fishin]

Try 30 to 40ft. The browns have been hanging out with the perch. Catch some small perch and use them for bait.

go up where the river comes in. Start fishing about where the buoys are and work your way up. We caught a bunch there a few days ago just throwing rapalas and rainbow trout colored X-rap's. You'll know when you get a hit!
We caught them in 2' to 30' but most in 5-7' in the river channel.
Good Luck!

they are up in the river mouth or up river spawning right now.. its november browns spawn in november. it good with rapalas or big streamer patterns. the big ones in dc are up out of the lake now as well from the charlston up alitle past the train tracks to the waterfall. if anyone fishes for thease fish stay outa the shallow gravlebars. reds. right now every step in a shallow spot kills eggs...
