I've been trying to get to kolob all spring(never been there)and have had my plans messed up every time.So this week end I am taking the whole family and camping at kolob.I will actually be coming to washington to complete a tile job started last week end,But I figure if I camp at kolob I will have to return each day, then maybe I won't let work get in the way.Question is,how is the camping arround kolob? Are there any campgrounds? I'll be bringing a tent trailor. And by the way has the fishing remained good? Thanks Lonnie

No problemo. Camping is available by the dike, although perhaps it may still be a little muddy. I think you could camp at many various locations around the lake. I don't think fishing has gone down, although I haven't been there for a week or two. I would try a glo bug or a tube jig if I were you. Depends whether you fly or lure fish. Parachute adams are also nice.

Their is a lot of camping spots but no facilities or a improved campground. I'd drive around the lake until you find a camp site you like. It'll be crowded this weekend so get there early.

Read Southermans post about last weeks Kolob trip or do search for Kolob you'll get some good info.

Have fun and don't forget artificial flies and lures only with 1 fish over 22"

There is a small campsite area next to Lava Point. There are 6 campsites that are avalible for camping. Camping used to be free as of 3 years ago. They have vaulted toilets but can't remember any water. These campsites go real fast and are a first come first get type of area. There are no reservations Ony A few miles for the lake. These are great sites and have a great view point for overlooking Zion Canyon. They say at the website that they are open fron June to November but have camp there earlier before.

I found a link see below.
