Just found this forum off a search, Ive lived in LV for most of my life. My dad and I fished Lake Mead and the River every weekend from 97-2001. We sort of just stopped fishing, he sold his boat and I moved out. I married and have a 8 month old little girl now.

Needed an excuse to get out and fishing seems to have hooked me again. We went fishing a couple weeks ago on 11/24/08 early morning out of Echo Bay we walked "under" the first cove we used to fish (where he taught me to fish lots of good memories there) just getting to the water haha. seems like we did more walking than fishing and had no luck.

Now hes looking for a boat again and im hoping by next season we get out on the water and into some action. We are going to head out this weekend, anyone know where shore fishers have had any luck? the lakes changed to much from the last time we were out. Anyone on this board fish for large mouth?

Hello and welcome to the party. I can understand how it is to see your favorite fishing hole high and dry...Had one myself in the back of the old government wash, now its hundreds of yards if not more from any water. The only place I have had luck from the bank in the last few years at Lake Mead is the Hole 33 area. With a long cast you can take strippers and cats from the shore there about all the year round. In the spring when the bass move up I have had some luck for largemouth there as well. It is a hike of course. I used to do well from crawdad cove but truth is I have not been there in years. Its the new site for trout plants so it should be worth a look. One of the fellows posted directions to 33 and Crawdad on one of these posts not too long ago. anytime any of you want to get out on the Lake, we are always looking for new members to come out and join the bass clubs as non boaters. Although experiences differ from each club it is a great way to get out on the lake to fish.

There are three clubs who are affiliated with the Federation meaning a little more competition and two clubs who are not. They are;

Bass fed clubs

Nevada Bass Anglers
Bass Anglers Federation
Las Vegas Bass Club

non fed

Southern Nevada Bassmasters
Silver State Bass Club

I know there are some striper clubs as well that guy's on hear can help you with.

Thnaks for the warm welcome, I didnt even know about clubs good info. My dad continues a search for a boat, anyone know of a good bass/ski boat for a good price. I think the old man likes boating just as much as he likes to fish.
