Just got a new Ice Auger for Christmas and I am anxious to try it out. Where should I go? My son and I have been thinking about Chesterfield but I don't want to drive that far just to get stuck or hike for a mile. Is the road in plowed out yet? Has anyone tried Gem Lake? I talked to a guy that did real well on Ashton, but I've heard the fish there are mostly planters and I would rather catch something that is good eating. If nothing else I guess we could take some of the grand kids to Roberts. I would love to hear that Ririe is ready, but it sounds like it will be awhile yet.

I've heard of people fishing Gem, but nothing really fast or reliable. Roberts is fast, but it's all stocked trout and small perch. You might try Magic Res. Some of the reports from there are encouraging.
